A couple of us did a track day at Winton yesterday with the Coupe Club and Ford Performance Club. The event was well run and about 60 cars presented. Here's a half dozen select pics from the day.

On ya Jeff.
Did the T behave ? how does Winton compare to Wakefield ?

Yes Andrew; can't go to a track with a T and not have fun heheheh.

Maurie the track is not suited to our cars at all. It is too "slow". By that I mean the corners are all 2nd gear and the straights are too short - I think my max speed was about 150km/h. Just too big an ask for a heavy car - need a much better power to weight ratio than our "stock" cars have. To give you an idea; around wakefield I only have to make 4 gearchanges whereas at Winton it was something like 7 and that was actually "avoiding" some changes that by rights should have been made but I just got sick of going back to 2nd all the time so hung it in 3rd and just suffered a little on the exits. If I ever go there again I will do a diff swap and put some 3.9s in it so 3rd can become the lowest gear used and 4th will come into play - the way it is now 4th gets used only once for a few seconds on the pit straight coming down to the chicane.

The car however behaved faultlessly as it always does - temp gauge never moved and the tyres (even though not the best) were temp and pressure perfect so the geometry is working as it should. I have temporarily "lost" (they'll turn up somewhere when I'm looking for something else! LOL) my rear wheel adaptors (1" spacers) that the car is set up to have - the extra 2" track width at the rear is very important so I had to cope with the back being quite a bit more lively than usual - a issue exacebated by having so many slow 2nd gear corners.

But it was still a great day and when I get some time during the week I'll try to upload some video.

Looks good on the track Jeff. Winton is one I would like to drive. Maybe one day :)

PS. I looked on the car, and there are no wheel spacers on it, I didnt get time to pull the other plastic tub out on the weekend, but I dont remember seeing them in there. I will keep you posted.
