Any clues on specs?

Love the irony in how the US CEO acknowledges that the Ford brand was forged through motorsport and he sees motorsport as vital to the success of the brand through performance products we can buy.....

The clues are in the previous SVT thread http://fordforums.net.au/showthread.php?1812-2015-Mustang-SVT-rumours-and-gossip-thread

In summary there's not a lot. MRC is expected, and so is a flat plane crank 5.2, although other mules had X-plane cranks. Not sure which way they'll go.

@ 46 seconds tell me that doesn't sound like a flat plane crank.

2 x 4 cylinders fighting under the bonnet...?

2 x 4 cylinders fighting under the bonnet...?

Yes that's what an FPC V8 sounds like - 2 x 4cyl engines.

Notice in this last video they talk about Ecoboost. That is left field because no one was expecting SVT to do a 4cyl hipo, so perhaps there'll be two cars shown on the 17th. Certainly won't be an ecoboost V8.

Question - apart from the halycon GT40 euro conquest do you rate Ford as a motor racing icon ?
Forget WRC conquests as thats not as main stream for eg to Le Man - I'm talking road racing euro events to date.
Forget Cosworth engine during F1 reign (as great as that was I'm talking a Ford racing car) - a actual Ford factory supported outfit doing it in EU ?

Yes because you cant start to separate out parts of motor racing.

Do they have a presence in motorsport and do they leverage road product agaist it. The answer is yes.
From sports car to wrc, to btcc to V8supercars, to nascar, to NHRA.

Our founder himself said the first race was held the day the second car was built.
Its a different question to considerating how effective they are at it but essentially what they have said about motorsport in the first video of this series is exactly what most Ford enthusiasts would expect ford to feel of themselves.

Out here we would be looking to tell ford the exact same thing as said in that video. Seems like we can save our breath because ford appear to understand that already.

That doesnt mean they will apply it all over the globe. That they believe it as a company is fantastic, thay we are closest to the US in heart a bonus but that doesnt mean one ford executes globally which is where we get these questions.

Once you start excluding parts of racing and their locations you can nearly make any statement fail.
